Positive sainsburys tests

Hey guys, I took one Sainsburys pregnancy test this evening and it came back positive (with a faint line, but more than if that makes sense). Then I saw all the bad reviews these tests have and I decided to take another one but dipped it in water to see how it comes back and it was clearly negative. The. I took a pink dye strip (the boots ones in a blue box) and it came back negative. I think I’m going crazy. Also my cervix is very high, but it’s closed and hard. Missed my period. 4 days late right now

I think that false positives are quite rare. Did you use the same urine for the second one? I once had something similar, but when I did that second test I hadn't held my wee very long and it was negative. Did one the next morning and it was positive.

Do one in the morning. I used sainsburys cheapos for all 4 of my pregnancies and I never got a false positive.

@Keha one of the tests from yesterday (the negative one) was dipped in water to see if it gives me the same positive result as people were saying about these tests. I bought a new box today and did another one with my urine and it was slightly positive again. I don’t know what to believe about these tests… the cheap strip ones boots own (in a blue box) are coming back as negative. I don’t know what else to believe. I ordered some more tests, clear blue but not the digital ones to see as the digital one from boots I did 3 days ago came back negative

You'd be better off getting hold of some FRERs, @cecilia01 instead of Sainsbury's and CBs!

KayC19 · 24/06/2022 18:28

@cecilia01 I used these and they gave me a false positive. I took all other tests alongside and they were all blank and then I read about Sainsbury's being notorious for it. It broke me as I went 2 days thinking I was genuinely pregnant and I wasn't :( I even tried dipping one in water and it still showed a vfl.

girlmom21 · 24/06/2022 18:33

I've never had a false positive from a sainsburys test and they've always shown a strong positive when I actually have been pregnant.

Lollol86 · 24/06/2022 21:38

I had a false positive from Sainsburys yesterday too. The reviews are awful on them so I personally wouldn't trust them.
Definitely do a FRER.
I would assume though being 4 days late any test should really show as a positive. Good luck.

When I used Sainsbury's tests years ago they were rubbish, the colour flooded the test & pooled where the indicator strip was. Get some FRER, they are better.
