Thank you gift for hospital wards

Was unsure where best to post this.

I had a high risk pregnancy with a lot of appointments followed by a long postnatal stay and as a result had support from a number of hospital wards.

I have sorted gifts for specific people who were key in the care but wanted to take something to the wards to thank the wider staff, the care was so good despite them clearly being short staffed etc.

I have written cards but unsure of the best thing to take with them. Are sweets/biscuits the best option? Or has anyone done something different which has been well received? Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated please Smile

I’m a nurse….all of the above are gratefully received although gifts are not expected. Generally patients buy treats to say thank you ….quick things to grab on the go, chocolates, biscuits, sweets, cakes, donuts etc we do eat healthy a lot too though 🤣 x

It's lovely that you are doing this. My dm, who was a nurse for 40 years, said patients are very much more likely to take the trouble to complain than write thank you letters so if you have a good hospital experience put it in writing. It helps redress the balance for the staff and will be really appreciated.

So anything written, I would say, and perhaps a photo of baby. I'm sure any other bits would be welcome too but something staff can read to remind them of good days would be appreciated I'm sure.

@sunshine423
I work in a hospital and a patient send up from a company trays of sandwiches I thought was a nice idea.

I was told nice teas and instant coffees for the break room because everyone does biscuits/coffees!
