Loss at 9 weeks, appointment with EPU on Monday

Had a private scan and no heartbeat detected. Seems the baby stopped growing 1-2 weeks ago. EPU say they next have availability on Monday to see me. Is this the normal kind of wait or should I push to see someone right away? Just not sure what is normal in these circumstances and I'm petrified of what's ahead

I had a MMC (later than this). The waiting time seems appropriate to me.

Just be aware that you may start to bleed before the appointment & complete the miscarriage naturally.

Yes, unfortunately that’s about standard, but doesn’t make it right.

Your other option is to see if there’s another EPU near you. We have one a bit further that accepts walk ins.

You’ll be given options and it’s best to be prepared.

Medical management (tablets that make the mc happen, expectant management (wait and see if it passes by itself) or surgery.

None of them are great and you’ll be managing your grieving, so perhaps give yourself a few days to think about which you would “prefer”.
