Issues at 9 week scan

Hi all - I paid for one of those ‘reassurance’ scans at a private clinic for a Father’s Day surprise at 9 weeks (a bad idea)… they said they could only see an empty pregnancy sac and I’ve probably lost baby. When I went to early pregnancy assessment unit yesterday for a scan (more thorough - both internal and external) they said it’s possible my dates are out and I’m only 6 weeks in which case they may not be able to see much on scan and to go back in a fortnight. Are they giving me false hope? I’m still registering as pregnant on urine test and have been having ‘symptoms’ (sore boobs / tired / nausea.) my head is in the shed! I wondered if anyone had a similar experience

Sorry this sounds so stressful for you. I guess the only way to tell is to wait for your next scan but another way that would give you a fairl good indication is when you got your first positive test. If you got one over 4 weeks ago then I would say sadly
This looks like a missed miscarriage

Xxx

I haven’t had similar but did have a bleed early on and had to wait 2 weeks for a scan afterwards to check everything was fine which was a long 2 weeks so I just wanted to say fill your time with distractions and all the very very best for you x

Three weeks is quite a significant difference, so if you think back to when you ovulated/DTD, does being 6 weeks pregnant seem likely to you?

Fingers crossed for you.

Yes you’re probably right! X

the dates could work if I ovulated late - but I think it’s just wishful thinking!
