Hi, I am certain that I have had a miscarriage but I guess I am still holding onto a glimmer of hope which is why I am posting.
I experienced a really sharp pain in my stomach at 6 weeks 1 day it felt like someone was squeezing my insides with sharp nails, it lasted about 10 seconds and then that was it. I was concerned but tried not to worry. The next day I started spotting, this then progressed to brown blood followed by bright red blood with stringy bits. Yesterday at 6 weeks 3 days I went to A&E to see if I could get a referral to the EPU for a scan to get some confirmation, the Dr was very kind to me but also honest (I appreciated this) and said that as I have miscarried before, the cramps and period like bleeding I am most likely miscarrying. They called this morning and asked me to take a pregnancy test to see if I am still getting a second line and how strong, I will get one when the pharmacy opens.
I am just wondering if anyone has had heavy bleeding like they are on their period and cramping and didn't miscarry? I have a small part of me that is clinging to some hope that maybe I was pregnant with twins and one is still ok which is very unlikely as no history of twins in the family. Or maybe I am just having a heavy bleed but everything is going to be ok which is stupid I know as I just don't know how I can bleed this much and everything is still ok.
I have miscarried before but I was much further along, I was 15 weeks so the process then feels very different to now, I feel like I am just expected to get on with it and see what happens.
