Elective C section next week but no date

I have a few complications and have gone for elective c sect as safest option.

The hospital told me in that case we have to do it next week, baby needs to be out by Friday latest. I was told this at the start of the week, no appointment has been booked as they are fully booked.

They have said they will find a way for me to get an appointment, but based on me needing to come in 2 days before for tests etc, isn't this very short notice?

Is your hospital bag packed? Not ideal but I would just be prepared for it being very last minute and probably also calling on a daily basis for an update. If baby needs to come out by the end of the week then you will get an appointment.

For my elective blood was taken etc the day before (less than 24hrs before), and of course for my emergency section nothing was done in advance. If you're sure you're on the list, they'll make it work. I know how stressful it can be though.
