Hi all I'm freaking out (as I do) I'm 18wks pregnant. Suffering with LBP. I cant walk .. its agony. Physio I saw today used TENS machine on my lower back which helped. He advised getting one for myself. This is when the panic set in though as all the ones i can find say not to use until your 37+ weeks pregnant. Can anyone reassure me as I'm worried I've hurt baby or will cause miscarriage. Has anyone used a TENS machine 'during' pregnancy not just for labour and was all ok?

@Kellog88
I'm sure he knew what hw was doing if it was unsafe he would of known this and not used it on you, but try phoning place you had physio in and just ask them the question.

I read in a book that you shouldn't Use TENS during pregnancy (Dr Sear's Healthy Pregnancy Book). I'm not sure what the repercussions are if used once. I imagine it wouldn't have a detrimental effect as the current is pretty low. I don't think you should use it again and tell your trainer you're uncomfortable with it. What does your Doctor say? For lower back pain the pregnancy ball or the exercise ball really helps.
