Help!
I'm 40+2
Booked for an induction 40+12 which is 26th June!
This is my second baby
What's everyone's experiences with this? Have they gone into labour naturally themselves? Or if they've been induced does the induction last as long as it usually does with first time babies??
I am so anxious I Just want baby here before I have to be induced

Hi I hope you're okay. I went into labour 40+3. My husband was having a go at me that I don't walk enough that's why my baby's head wasn't fully engaged. So I got my pram put my 3 year inside and went for a long angry walk swinging my hips as fast as I could. Then went to the park with my sister. That night my waters broke and it turns out baby's head wasn't fully engaged because she was footling breech! Please don't worry too much whatever happens I hope you have an easy birth and a beautiful baby xx

I was induced as her heart rate was going from 125 to 185 for 6 hours (turns out the cord was round her neck twice). By the time they decided to break my waters it was 3am so I had the strongest stuff straight away. My baby was stubborn so it took 26 hours. Epidural after 12 hours of back to back contractions and only 4cm. Then forceps as she wouldn't come out after two hours pushing. I've heard back to back contractions are common with being induced.

My boss was induced though and gave birth in 6 hours fine so it depends on the baby. Most stories I hear are much nicer than mine. I would just go with the flow as I've learnt the hard way the baby decides when it's ready haha.

I was also two weeks late. She's still a diva at three years old now.... I'm hoping for a nicer birth this time but she'll probably be late like her sister! Urgh!!!

My 2nd birth was also my 2nd induction and it couldn't have been different from my first.

First was 49 hours of boredom mixed with extreme pain! The second was lovely and I'd do it again if I could.

Pessary was inserted the evening before, I woke up in the morning with contractions, my waters went, and I gave birth with just gas and air an hour later.

I was in your shoes a few months ago op, induction booked and feeling nervous. In the end I was induced a bit earlier (41+1) because my waters went at home but the contractions were not doing much. I had the gel and enjoyed wandering the hospital gardens while it kicked in. Then dh and I returned to our room and I had gas and air. They dimmed their lights and I had my music. Pushed for 20 mins and there she was, just 8 hours after the gel was used. A positive experience overall and I honestly wish I could go back in time and do it again. Good luck Flowers
