Hi all,
My results have come back as 5.3 with no further information.
I'm trying to get through to the midwife now - does anybody know if this result is normal/high etc??
Thanks

That would seem to be a very normal reading from my experience.
I think mine came back at around 7 or 8ish, I was right on the borderline for having it but was still
phoned straightaway about my results as I had to be given a glucose monitor, diet info etc ASAP.

gestational diabetes is over 5.3 for fasting blood glucose, so your result is borderline, mine was the same and they didn't treat me as having it.

5.3 is an excellent result, @MummyRR! Over 7.5 would be starting to flag a GD Dx, so you sound fine.

Thanks All.
Turns out 5.3 is my first blood reading.
My second blood came back "ACC" (inconclusive apparently) so the hospital are investigating into it.
Hopefully all comes back okay.

I've been called in, first reading was 5.8 after fasting, 2nd reading 2 hrs later and after the glucose drink was 8.2 cut off is <5.6 fasting and <7.8. I guess it's a case of just see what's said today. Outside of pregnancy apparently it's within normal ranges.
