Insane thirst!

Hi!

I’m got a BFP yday on DPO9 after a MMC in Jan and a chemical pregnancy in April (2 weeks after losing my dad and the same day my sister told me she was pregnant- unplanned for her, and we’ve been trying 2 years!) it’s been a rough 2022 so far!!

Anyway, I’m half over the moon as I had a full year of BFN’s but I’m so anxious too! Especially as I seem to have so many symptoms for only 10 DPO.

first of all, did anyone else feel incredibly tired and nauseous this early and everything went ok? (I read that too early can mean an ectopic)

second, I have an insane thirst that I didn’t have with any other pregnancy or my son, who is nearly 3. Any chance it could mean a girl?!

thanks!

Woooooo congratulations. That's lovely news for you after everything.

My first symptom at 10dpo was nausea and I also had insane thirst through my pregnancy and it was a boy. He's a healthy 1 year old now. So I don't think it signals anything sinister to have early symptoms and don't think it signals a particular gender either.

Good luck with it all! X

Congratulations! I'm sorry to hear about such a horrible year for you. My first symptom, looking back, was thirst. I drank so much overnight once that my pee was too diluted in the morning and my test came back negative...!! (POAS addict here. Tested from 4days post 5 day transfer right up to my first clinic scan at 7 weeks..!)
I was also beyond exhausted but that could be explained by the progesterone I was on - IVF baby here!
Wishing you all the very best in your pregnancy.

Thanks girls!!! I’m on progesterone too so maybe that’s why I have so many symptoms so early, but the thirst and nausea are so intense so early that I got a bit taken aback I guess!
@Olivia199 did you have a boy or girl?

My first symptom every time (2 x mmc and 1x baby boy) was finding it harder to wake up in the morning and being really thirsty.

A bit random but try something bitter to help with the thirst
Bitter lemon, ice cold lime cordial, McDonald's iced strawberry lemonade

I had a little girl and she is perfect 🥰
The progesterone made me feel fairly crap, I won't lie and the symptoms from that started around 5 days after my transfer (10dpo equivalent). So I knew logically it likely wasn't the pregnancy at that point. Definitely doesn't feel fair that it all starts so early with those..!!

I'm not sure what a lot of your acronyms actually mean, but if it helps, I am 18 weeks pregnant and have been knocking back 4-5L water every day since I was about 6 weeks pregnant. I wake up parched and I get a dry mouth if so haven't been sipping. Ive also been eating 5 portions of fruit every day and I think it's just to quench my thirst! I don't have gestational diabetes (excessive thirst is a sign), this is my very first pregnancy and so far everything is fine. Hope this reassures somewhat?

JoKB · 17/06/2022 19:41

@KatieP8 do you know if you’re having a big or girl?

Hey, I'm so sorry to hear about what you've been through - TTC can be so rough 💕I just had a cp in April and now 4w6
I'm getting the thirst as well! Definitely a common symptom for me.
And the nausea and tiredness is really variable, in my experience the symptoms have either come on full-force immediately or kind of built up slowly. But either way it's been fine. Ectopic symptoms are more spotting, pelvic pain on one side, and shoulder tip pain.

KatieP8 · 18/06/2022 21:31

@JoKB no I don't know. I don't really pay too much attention to the 'signs' I might have one or the other Wink
