Hi,

I am looking for some advice on maternity leave rules and regs. I work as an LSA in SEN and am due mid September. I plan to on going back for the 1st week of September ( if baby doesn't have other plans lol ) and starting my maternity the 2nd week back. My question is can I return/end my maternity leave the week before the summer holiday 2023?
Any advice/help would be much appreciated :)
TIA!

I’m a teacher and am doing similar but for Easter! 😊 I started mat leave the week after Easter (I didn’t actually go back!) and go back the first day of the Easter holidays next year 😊

Hi, I think if you want to return before the 12 months is up I think you just need to give your employer 8 weeks notice before you intend to return. That’s what my letter from HR says (also a LSA with SEN) I’m due in a few weeks and leave next week for maternity leave.
