Need a wee ALL the time!

I'm 22 weeks and although I have always throughout needed a wee every few hours, this is now within the hour I'm desperate. I'm also having to wear pads daily as i seem to let a bit of urine out as I'm going about my day. Last week I felt really uncomfortable needing a lot of wees and a slight burn. I had my sample checked by the GP and it was clear. Today I am so uncomfortable, I have a heavy feeling in my bladder and I'm needing a wee every 45 minutes or so. I keep getting sharp burning pains down there and it looks a little puffy. The pains only started after 7pm and I'm going to call my midwife in the morning but is this normal to need a wee all the time???

Yes, definitely consult with your midwife/ gp about the burning pains and puffiness. I wouldn’t say weeing every 45 minutes alone is of concern though when pregnant.

pain too? Sounds like a uti. You need an emergency gp appointment

Absolute hallmarks of a UTI, I'd get on the phone first thing this morning.

Hope you feel better!

Thanks I am going to call this morning. Just wasn't sure with me only having my sample tested last week if it could have been missed? Not sure how accurate urine samples are?

@Cookiedough123 it may be that it wasn't enough to show up on the dipstick yet, but definitely sounds like a UTI. Did they send it to a lab to check? If not then definitely give them another sample to send off. Are you doing pelvic floor exercises? They would help with the leaking. Good luck!

@GrowBabyGrow thank you. No they didn't send it off. Just a quick check and then rang and said it was clear within 15 minutes! I've left a message and a midwife is going to call me back. No havent started pelvic floor but that's probably a good idea!
