Travelling For Work

Looking for some advice really, I'm 8 weeks and haven't told anyone I'm pregnant yet except my husband - we were waiting to have the first scan before we made any announcements - trouble is the morning sickness has kicked in with vengeance and its been constant all day nausea and not being able to keep anything down. Its not too bad atm as I WFH but im due to travel down to London for a couple of days for work and the thought of it is unbearable - I get anxious anyway staying away from home let alone when I feel so ill.

Should I tell my manager? I still feel like its early but I really can't face the trip - 😓

Yes tell your manager and ask for their discretion. You could be excused from the trip on grounds of pregnancy. You are covered under discrimination laws for this. It's best to let management know early on to be given allowances for appointments or time off for pregnancy related sickness if needed.

That's good to hear - I've always grown up being told, don't tell anyone before 12 weeks that it's become a weird sort of milestone in my mind.

But good to have some reassurance thank you
