Third Trimester HELL - heartburn / reflux or something else?

1st Trimester - horrendous nausea & vomiting, lost about 7kg

2nd Trimester - nausea stopped (around 20 weeks) but still vomited occasionally. Bleeding from 21 to 30 weeks due to undiscovered Hematoma sitting above my cervix

3rd Trimester - Heartburn / reflux? Not sure! Daily Morning vomiting has returned

So from 30 weeks ish I have been feeling what I can only describe as pressure in my chest (between breasts just above them) & a lump very low down in my throat. Food feels like it is stuck. I don’t have the typical burning sensation of heartburn but I am uncomfortable

Burping seems to temporarily relieve some of the pressure but it builds again pretty rapidly

I have been on Omeprazole 20mg from over a year for suspected GERD due to a chronic cough - hasn’t helped in the slightest. I am also taking Peptac & Rennie’s daily. Maybe they are stopping me getting the burning feeling but the pressure is awful & makes me want to spew my insides out

Has anybody else experienced anything remotely similar in their third trimester that seems to be resistant to any medication you are taking? I am absolutely miserable & so anxious. 34+4 today

thank you x

Gp told me I had gastric reflux, I had the same feeling of pressure, without the classic heartburn too. It was horrendous, I couldn't walk anywhere without it coming on shortly after dying the first trimester and lost several kilos in weight too. It cleared up for most of 2nd trimester but right on cue has returned for the third. Omeprazole did help with mine but took a while. I also found not eating 3 hours before bed and lighter meals seemed to help a bit, as well as cutting out processwed fatty foods. I have only put on 5lbs overall since I fell pregnant though as a result.

The gp basically said "it's tough luck, that's pregnancy for you". I can't lie on my sides at night due to the pain in my oesophagus which is worrying because at 28 weeks I shouldn't be sleeping on my back... But the pressure is unbelievable otherwise.

I am desperate not to go off sick at work as I starred a new job in april. If I go off sick in the month before my due date it will trigger the start of my mat leave and I'll have to take it early. First world problems to some degree, I know...

But it sucks! I hope you can ask for a medication review?
