False positive pregnancy test

I did a pregnancy test this morning and it came up positive (after 10 minutes) I am not sure whether it’s an evaporation line. I did another test straight after and it had a very very faint thin line. I did a further 2 more tests (digital clear blue) and they said not pregnant

i have read this could be because I am really early and that the hormone is a lot weaker in the afternoon?

this is all new to me. Help :(

You should check the result sooner than 10 minutes.

try again tomorrow

It could be you’re really early. Try a first response test they detect hcg at lower levels and make sure u do first morning urine. I’ve had it where it’s seemed negative then come up positive when I’ve re looked at it later, I’ve always been pregnant but just really early x

i checked it within the 10 minutes and it was negative, I put it in the bin and checked again after the 10 mins and it had a faint blue line xx

I have bought a first response one, I’ll do it first thing tomorrow. So nervous, I just want to know🙈

Please don't do an early test, wait until your late and then you'll have your answer without stressing yourself out. There's nothing good about testing early 💐

You're suppose to read the test within the time frame, the instructions normally say the result is invalid outside of the window. I would say test again in a few days or if your period doesn't arrive

Is this a positive test? Can anyone else see a faint line??

Your not suppose to read after the time..
Its common to show positive after awhile, same as Covid tests

I have had a few similar situations @Sleepinglala@Sleepinglala, and researched pregnancy tests quite a bit over 9 pregnancies (!). Congratulations, you're pregnant. A positive result is a positive result, and genuine false positives are rare & mostly due to fertility treatment involving HCG. You're correct in that early morning urine is more concentrated, and dilute urine and / or lower test sensitivity would explain the negative test later on. But pregnancy tests are like looking for headlice on a child - if you find one louse, the kid has them, even if you don't find one when you search later that day!
Evaporation lines on pregnancy tests only appear after a significant time has passed and the test has dried out; you wouldn't expect to see be after 10 minutes.
I've had 9 pregnancies and used to have very irregular cycles, from 4-12 weeks, so used to routinely test several times a week after week 4 when TTC. In my experience, and also for every friend I've ever talked to about this, a positive result means a pregnancy. You can trust a positive result, but not a negative one. A negative result means EITHER not pregnant, OR early pregnancy & the hormone concentration in that particular sample was not enough to meet the threshold of that particular test. So all the stuff about not testing until day X is really just about the accuracy of a negative result, because a negative result can't be trusted until the day the manufacturers specify. However, a positive result can be trusted unless you have a medical reason for high hcg levels (eg recent miscarriage, hcg treatment). A so-called "chemical pregnancy" is still a true positive, but one where the fertilised egg does not manage to implant. That's one reason why some say not to trust an early positive result. But it still tells you that you are conceiving, so personally I thought it was better to know.
Good luck!

You might get a better response by starting your own thread as this is a bit old.

But I can see two lines in the square box and one in the round box.
