Growth slowing at 36 weeks

Hi all.

I'm 36+2 with my second baby. I'm having regular growth scans as my daughter was small for gestational age (2nd percentile for weight at birth).

Baby boy has consistently been on the 90th percentile since my first growth scan at 28 weeks, but I had my 36 week growth scan today and he's now dropped to the 60th percentile. So still well within normal, and apparently blood flow to placenta ect was fine, but obviously a bit of a drop from the 90th!

Consultant didn't seem overly worried and was happy to wait until my next scan in three weeks. I guess I'm just worried because my daughter was tiny and they now think her growth slowed down towards the end too. I know that growth scans aren't an exact science though!

Did anyone else have this? What happened?

Thank you 😊

I had a growth scan with my DD (first child) as bump measuring small at midwife appointment. Went for the scan, all was fine, perfect weight. Next midwife appointment, same thing, another scan and they said they wanted to induce me the next day because she'd dropped percentiles drastically, (I can't remember exactly how much). Was induced and she was born weighing 6lbs 5oz at 38 weeks. Scans aren't as accurate as we all give them credit for. Yes they are amazing! And gives a lot of information and reassurance but it's not an exact science. Hope all goes well with you and baby!
