You need to check the caffeine content and make your decision. I moved to decaf everything when I was pregnant so wouldn’t have entertained an energy drink, but ultimately it’s your call

Sirzy · 08/06/2022 11:28

With the amount of caffeine I wouldn’t

Skinnermarink · 08/06/2022 11:31

I didn’t cut caffeine out when I was pregnant but I did moderate my intake, so check the amount and decide from there.

tealandteal · 08/06/2022 11:52

Personally I wouldn’t due to the caffeine but only you can make the decision, it would also depend if it was a one off or a regular thing.

They say to limit caffeine, I also drink sugar free red bull, I mentioned it to my midwife at the booking appointment and she said it’s ok but to limit it to one a day as it’s to do with caffeine in it but it’s no different than a cup of coffee really which they also say to limit too.

For the record I drank sugar free red bull in my last pregnancy and absolutely no issues x

Monster Ultra is sugar and caffiene free maybe try that one?

Amber17 · 08/06/2022 16:46

@Cakecakecheese Its sugar free and zero calories but def not caffeine free! It’s 30mg/100ml.

The recommended caffeine limit is 200mg a day and the small red bull cans are only 80mg so less than a standard latte.

mummyh2016 · 08/06/2022 20:22

I wouldn't. My midwife was even questioning how much chocolate I was eating to establish how much caffeine I was consuming.

Jaaxe · 08/06/2022 20:27

@mummyh2016 how much chocolate?! Wow that’s extreme….I’d defo fail there 😂

fartoobiled · 08/06/2022 22:57

It's absolutely fine! They recommend limiting caffeine

fartoobiled · 08/06/2022 22:57

*caffeine to 200mg... standard can of red bull is only 80mg

BattenburgDonkey · 08/06/2022 23:00

I wouldn’t, it’s not just the caffeine, they have other stimulants which can increase heart rate or blood pressure. I’m sure it wouldn’t do any major harm, but seen as you are asking, I wouldn’t.
