Is it normal for baby to be head down still? 31 weeks

Baby boy is still breech, I'm hoping he turns soon because I don't fancy doctors trying to turn him (I've heard it's painful and it's scared me).
My question is, what week did your baby turn? Did you feel it when they went head down?
I'm sure my first son was head down by now

Between 35 and 38 weeks for mine. You’ve got time still. Wishing you luck xx

Definitely still early. They tend to flip frequently at your stage (in my experience, anyway)
Mine were head down by 36/37 weeks

@Discovereads
Thank you!

Did they start to talk about offering an ECV? My midwife keeps saying 34 weeks and then they will think about booking me in. I think I'm panicking myself because she's saying 34 weeks haha

Mine didn't turn, he totally missed that memo ha.

I did try an ECV but that didn't work either. It was uncomfortable but I didn't find it too bad. Saying that I've already decided I won't be trying it in this pregnancy. I think it was maybe around 34 weeks when they asked me if I'd like to try one. Then when it didn't work I got booked in for a section right after. 😊

I had a growth scan today and lo and behold he's now head down 😂
Not sure if my midwife mistook his bum for his head yesterday or the yoga poses I did last night had something to do with it.

Let's hope he stays out now😁

Mine was unstable until 39!

C section booked so decided to go ahead as he wasn’t engaged at the scan and didn’t want to find out he had turned again during labour.

39+5 and he had engaged for the c section. Poor soul had to have forceps to dislodge him.

Still happy with the elective c and my choice.

Yay OP, glad he is head down now. And hopefully will stay head down.

I was told they aren't concerned about presentation till 36 weeks - before then even if they are head down at one stage, they can IP and then flip again.

I never felt mine flipping - whether that's because they got stuck head down early or because I just wasn't aware of it I don't know!

Mine was transverse at 31 weeks, head down by 32+3, but I remember having the same worries as you! Glad he's sorted himself out now.

Lucky he's turned, OP! I'm 36+4 and having an ECV tomorrow. Annoyingly my girl was head down at 32 week scan and has decided to flip since then. She was estimated at 6lb 3oz at 34+1, so there's still room they think and she's very active, but I'm pessimistic the ECV will work for some reason.

Obstetrician told me they like to try ECV around 36 +3,4,5 ideally because baby is almost at term if it distresses her and she needs to be delivered immediately by ECMS. If it doesn't work, or she flips back, they doubt she ever will (too big) and it's elective c-section for us.
