High Risk pregnancy and no contact from hospital.

I am currently 12w4 pregnant. It’s a high risk pregnancy - previous ovarian cancer, fibroids and a lot of ovarian and cervical surgery. I’m under a consultant who has recommended early scans and appointments.

At 7weeks I had my booking in appt at my GP surgery and was told to do the self referral to the hospital my consultant is at, rather than the other hospital nearby. Hospital acknowledged my referral and sent online forms.

Now…nothing. I had a scan at the EPU at 9 weeks who were surprised I didn’t have a dating scan appt and said to call them at 10 weeks if I hadn’t heard. I’ve been calling them, the maternity unit, the scan dept and basically being told “someone
will contact you soon” but it’s been over two weeks and I’ve heard nothing.

Any suggestions of how else to get the dating scan appt through? The scan dept just has an answer phone and when I speak to EPU they put me through to maternity and then maternity put me through to scans. I’ve emailed and had an automated response of “someone will get back to you shortly”.

You say booking in appointment at GP, was this with the community midwives? Usually they put you forward for your scan ahead of this apppintment. I would keep calling the maternity unit at your hospital as they are the ones who scan you, it is separate to the midwives

Contact your GP and your consultants secretary for advice, they should be able to help you. If not, try PALS at the hospital you’re referred to.

You should have a scan this week.

@Lazypuppy she couldn’t - she could only do it for the other hospital in our trust (the main one). But she ticked all the boxes to say the hospital I wanted and when I went to the EPU for an early scan they had all her data there so it’s happened from her side. I’ve spoken to her too and she’s chasing it.

@SQLserved i emailed the consultants secretary today, and wondered about PALS.

DH wants to just turn up there or threaten to sue if i don’t hear anything in the right window…
