Quetiapine/antipsychotics in pregnancy?

I know this is a question for the doctors, but I wonder if anyone has experience of being on antipsychotics and antidepressants during pregnancy? I was (finally) diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder after my 13 month old was born, and the medication is helping me so much.

I am about 5 weeks pregnant, which was very much a surprise, and don’t want to risk my mental health if I can help it. All research suggests that these medications aren’t ideal, but are ok in pregnancy. I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has been through this

Hello.

I realise your post was last year but I just wanted to check how you got on with quetiapine and pregnancy? I’ve been on it 2.5 years now (low dose 25 mg) a day but really want to start trying for number 2. Would love to hear from others experience!

Hello. I had a consultation with a perinatal psychologist to ask about medication during pregnancy. She told me the best website to look at is BUMPS (it stands for best use of medication in pregnancy).

It shows all medication but this is the page on quetiapine

Maybe ask your GP for a referral to the perinatal mental health team to have a consultation. That's what I did when I was planning to start TTC and the referral didn't take long and then I had a virtual appointment where they talked me through the risks and benefits of my medication during pregnancy.

All the best
