So my partner has decided for our holiday he needs a tan before he lets anyone see him half naked so he’s been using the sun beds. We went after a shopping trip today and I sat on the chairs in the shop chatting to the lady behind the counter. A heavily pregnant lady came out of one of the sunbed rooms all hot and flustered and said thanks and off she went! I was so shocked! I read that it’s dangerous for many means during pregnancy I know it’s dangerous anyways and I’d never use them but are sunbed shops allowed to let people on sun beds that they can clearly see are expecting??

Tuna is a mercury risk. Some cheeses are a risk of haliobacter or something similar; a bacteria basically.

Alcohol. Because you might end up pregnant again 😂

Most medications.

More infantilisation and policing of women.

Bet no one is policing all the stupid shit men do.

I got told off by some random woman for ordering a Mr Whippy on holiday when I was pregnant. Good thing she didn’t see my have a rare steak and a small glass of red wine later on. That would have been too much for her busybody mind to cope with.

Did you also have a baby in France? There was a thread not so long ago from a woman who refused to pay for undercooked steak because she was pregnant... my obstetrician laughed about me eating rare steak because I'd been veggie since I was 8.

I'm a midwife, we do point women in the direction of the NHS choices website at their booking appointment for the 'dos and don'ts' but as I say to everryyy woman-'we can only advise you, when you leave this room, the choice and the risks are yours to make an informed decision about.'

My friend is a midwife, pregnant, and suffers from extreme psoriasis so bad sometimes she can't sleep-she uses su beds when she has a bad flare up to settle her skin. She weighs up the pros and cons of her medical condition and her mental health.

How do you know this woman isn't doing the same? Whereas your man is there for vanity, as you've described in your op.

Ha! No, this was actually on the South Coast!
