Early scan concern

Hi everyone. I’m worried about a scan I had yesterday. I had my dates as 6w 4d but they said I was measuring at 5w 1d. 10 days difference. The yolk sac was seen. They said the outcome is either my dates are wrong or the pregnancy isn’t progressing as it should. I spoke to the midwife this morning and she said I shouldn’t worry as this often happens and she will book an NHS scan in 2 weeks just to make sure everything is ok. I’ve been feeling sick and have really sore breasts. I’m concerned as my first positive test was 3 weeks ago today, which would have made me 2 weeks pregnant. Is that even possible? I can’t help but feel really worried. Thanks for your help.

I had the same thing. LMP put my EDD at 29/11 and epau scan put me at 11/12 this was at about 6 weeks. At my 12 week scan my EDD is 5/12 so pretty much in between those two dates. Now 14 weeks and all seems okay. I panicked when the initial dates were so far off but baby caught up a bit. Early scans are hard to measure because the slightest mm makes a huge difference. Hope everything goes well for you. Just the wait to find out is awful!

I would say they are literally measuring mm and being slightly off can make a.huge difference in dates. I've got everything crossed for you. And sorry for the mix up again - I've asked for my comment to be deleted.

Thank you. I’ve been reading lots of stories about this happening to people, with the dates being quite different but it then averages itself out. I just pray all will be ok. 2 weeks wait feels like a lifetime!
