What is my baby doing?! 28 weeks

I'm 28+4.

In the last two hours, my baby has been very active. He usually is at this time of night so it wasn't anything unusual. I was enjoying watching my stomach moving about!

About ten minutes ago, I got strong pain like period pain. He didn't move much at all during this and it lasted about 1 to 1.5 minutes. There was suddenly a very big movement, a vibration-like feeling, then the pain went away.

A couple of minutes later, I got the pain again but not as strongly. For about 2 seconds, it literally felt like he was coming out of my vagina. I panicked but as soon as it started, it stopped again.

Now he's back to moving about but the movements aren't as obvious or strong.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

if anything feels off please do seek medical advice/get checked out but I do remember when I was pregnant some sharp pains when the baby was fidgeting that took my breath away - I assumed that it was just stretching out and finding new nooks and crannies to push against.

sorry this might not be helpful so hopefully someone else will be along soon

(just for info the baby I mention above is now a 8 and a half year old who is still a massive fidget and likes to take up all the space in my bed)

will keep an eye on your thread for updates

It's possible he just kicked you somewhere, or got in a position painful for you. Mine used to kick me right in the nerve that goes to the leg.

But I'd recommand calling your doctor or A and E or whatever emergency services. They'll tell you whether you should get seen. Don't wait. Everything is probably fine but you want to be sure and you'll probably sleep better after you know for sure if everything is okay.

Thank you both for your replies. I'm feeling okay this morning and baby is moving normally. No other strange symptoms overnight. I'm at a medical appointment right now but will try calling my midwife later just to run it past her - it really frightened me!
