Elective Birth date

Hi , can women in Scotland select an elective birth on the day that they choose even if the pregnancy is healthy with no complications ?

You mean an elective section? You can request an elective section for any reason, but be aware that with a normal pregnancy and no prior indication of needing a section you might find it more of a struggle so be prepared for that.

You can't choose the exact date though. I'm NHS Grampian and they do them between 39-40 weeks, and it depends what coverage they have and what else is going on. I was given a choice of two dates based on availability, but you might just get given your date.
