Hi all, I'm new here this is my first pregnancy too! I'm 11 weeks and I'm worried I've put on too much weight 😫 when I fell pregnant I weighed around 61kg and my BMI was normal. I'm just worried that I've put on too much so looking for some reassurance if possible? Thank you all x

Not at all. I put a stone on. Carbs were the only thing to help my morning sickness.

Ah thank you! Eating plain salty foods is the only cure for my sickness right now

I wouldn't worry too much. If you can only stomach 'beige' foods right now then that's fine. Make sure you're getting your folic acid/multivitamins in.

On better sickness days, try to get some colour into your diet. Rest as much as possible; being tired seems to make it worse. But don't be hard on yourself. If you can't make it off the sofa sometimes, don't push yourself.

I had pretty bad morning sickness. Couldn't go food shopping. Couldn't even see food on instagram as my stomach would turn. My experience was that I would really fancy something, but once I'd eaten it I felt sick at the thought of having it again, so my list of 'ok foods' got smaller and smaller 😂

If the sickness gets really bad, make sure you go to the doctor as they can prescribe medicine for you. If you're sick so much that you're not going to the toilet/can't keep water down then head to A&E.

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy going forward 💐

Think it's a normal amount to either gain or lose in the first trimester depending on the woman. My mother lost about that due to morning sickness, then gained about 6kg in the second half of her pregnancy. I stayed the same until 20 weeks then gained 9kg. Some gain early then not much later on.

Everyone is different. I'm 24 weeks and have gained 5lb. With my daughter I only gained about 15lb overall.

Your body gears up when you get pg, and much weight gain is the increase in the amount of blood in your body, the growing level of amniotic fluid, etc.

I've gained 9lb at week 12 😬
