Hey everyone, I just found out that I had a mmc, I went in for an emergency scan at 11 weeks to find out that at 8 weeks the baby had stopped growing and heartbeat stopped, I was shocked as we had an 8 week scan where the heartbeat was seen so must’ve happened very soon after. We’re very upset as this baby was very wanted and we tried for it. We’re hoping to be able to get pregnant again quite soon, my question is how long did it take everyone to get pregnant after a miscarriage?

The very next cycle....which ended in a chemical. Then we took one month break on the advice of my gynaecologist.

The very next month I conceived again and am waiting for the arrival of my little wriggler in the next 2 months.

@Flederjo so happy for you!! You must be so excited that your so close to meeting your little one ❤️ Gives me a lot of hope! Did they think getting pregnant so soon had anything to do with the chemical if you don’t mind me asking?

I MC at 6 weeks, was pregnant 2 months later- first time we tried, unfortunately that was another MC. Left it for 6m and tried again- currently wrestling my 3.5m old!

Sorry for your loss

We too found out at 11 week scan. Had D&C 3 weeks later. Then Chemical pregnancy 2 months later, then BFP 5 months after and DS is now 13

Good luck x

I had a mc last July. Fell pregnant again in Nov, currently 29 weeks.

Sorry for your loss. I miscarried in October and fell pregnant the following April. Good luck 🍀

Sorry for your loss. It’s devastating isn’t it.

I also had a mmc in Jan at 12 weeks.

We waited till my 1st period arrived (so about 4 weeks after it happened) then started trying again. I found out a week ago that we are expecting again💚

Wishing you good luck

2 cycles, following a MMC in Jan. sadly have just had my second MMC. We are going to have a 3-4 month break now.

I had my MC at 7 weeks middle of March, currently 6 weeks pregnant. I'm still nervous and will be until I get my 12 week scan, I think getting past 7 weeks next week will also be a big step.
If it doesn't happen quickly for you don't worry, there are loads of things which can affect conception. Things happen when you least expect them. Good luck op 😊

I know what you mean about getting to that milestone. I had both my MC at 6 weeks, this time when I got to 7 weeks I was able to breath a sigh of relief and start actually believing it might happen. Although I did have scans at 7 and 9 weeks which helped.

I miscarried in the March, got pregnant 2 months later in May and baby DD is nearly 4 months old.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I found it absolutely devastating.

I had a missed miscarriage in the summer, one very short cycle after it, then conceived the next (more typical length) cycle.

Due our baby in a few weeks time, and all going well so far.

There are so many positive stories on Mumsnet, reflecting the statistical probability that things are highly likely to go well for you next time. It is totally devastating at the time though, I don't think the pain and loss ever leaves you, but for me the pain has lessened with time. It has brought me some comfort to think that the baby we are having would never have been were it not for what we have been through.

SunflowerGardens · 03/06/2022 22:32

I had a string of 4 consecutive miscarriages, the last one I needed an ERPC at 10 weeks. Didn't want to try again after that so we didn't try and didn't prevent and I conceived after 18 months and had a healthy pregnancy...she's turning one soon.

Very sorry for your loss, I would recommend giving it a bit of time if you possibly can. Make sure you take vitamin D (recommended by my recurrent miscarriage consultant - he says nearly everyone in the uk is low in it!)

WandaVon · 03/06/2022 23:41

I had a chemical in January and fell pregnant again in February. 16+1 now.

Hi @Georgia2609

So sorry for your loss. My first pregnancy just (11 days ago) ended in a MMC, that I took medical management tablets for. Scan on Thursday confirmed everything had passed though I’m waiting until the 2 week mark before I do a test.

I would also love to know people’s responses to this. I am absolutely desperate to be pregnant again, it’s all I can think about. I thought this feeling might pass but it’s been like it since I found out the heartbeat had stopped. I’ve bought so many ovulation sticks, but didn’t use them the first time so have no idea where to start.

Sending you ♥️It’s such a hard time

GeorgiaMcGraw · 04/06/2022 08:38

Hi op, I had a really similar situation to you. Took a couple of weeks to pass everything naturally and then ovulated a few weeks after that (used ovulation tests). Tried straight away, which feels mad now considering the grief we felt and the physical effects I had ecperienced with the pg and mc. Anyway, it was the third ovulation after the mc ehen I got pregnant. My 9 week old baby is lying next to me now having a doze. Sorry for your loss, fingers crossed you get your rainbow very soon x

Diamondbabe · 04/06/2022 08:41

I had a miscarriage, and got pregnant after the next period. Only 5+5 so not counting my chickens but I'm hopeful. I have a little boy 18 months so would be nice for him to have a sibling x

No idea if the MC and chemical "helped" get pregnant again straightaway. Sometimes you'll read about the body being more fertile straight after a loss.

I was taking my little concoction of supplements for both the MC and then for this successful pregnancy , and took other stuff after ovulation for this one, to support it in the very early stages.
