20 week scan incomplete

I had my 20 week scan today. This is my first pregnancy, had a scare around 6 weeks with a bleed, had private scan which was awful and told “no baby”, repeated a week later at EPU and all was fine, just a few days behind EDD going by LMP.
since then all been ok, still not felt and kicks but get flutters.
anyway..! Had my 20 week scan today, baby looked like it had grown since 12 week scan. Head, brain, spine, neck skin, abdomen wall, gastrointestinal tract, extremities and skeleton were checked and appear normal.
couldnt check face, chest, four chamber view and great vessels, kidney and bladder.
also said baby appears on the small side.
image restricted due to fetal position.
the sonographer has booked us back in 2 weeks. She didn’t say much, just that what was checked seemed ok, but couldn’t check everything so can’t comment there, and baby is small.
is this common? Should I be worried?
due to what happened in my very first scan, I’m always nervous beforehand!

I had this with my 1ds he would not roll over for anything to compete checks of face and heart etc. Told to come back in 2 weeks. which we did and he cooperated! HE is now a strapping 18 year old mummys boy with no health issues at all. Try not to worry if they had any real concerns they would of got you back sooner.

Yes this isn't unusual! Lots of people have to come back to complete bits they couldn't see the first time. Another scan at 22 weeks will still be a great time for the anatomy check - my trust doesn't even do the anatomy scan until weeks 22-23 anyway :)

And you'll get to see baby again soon which is a perk!

This happened to me.
My daughter hated being scanned. At 12 weeks she turned her back to us and we had to be rescanned at 14 weeks.

At 20 weeks she went into a tiny ball and they couldn't check lots of stuff. We didn't want to know the sex which was useful as she hid that too.

She kicked the Doppler out of the midwife's hand at around 30 weeks too.

I can’t remember how many attempts we had at the twenty week scan- on our last try they kept sending me off to eat chocolate / drink fizzy drinks and eventually he deigned to uncurl and let them do the measurements. Small all the way through and came a bit early but a hairy smelly healthy teenager now (but still does everything on his own terms!)

We had this as well and everything was absolutely fine. The sonographer said it's very common and nothing to worry about, they just bring you back to be really thorough and make sure nothing is missed. I was nervous too but ended up feeling glad to have another chance to see the baby! I also didn't really feel any movements until around 22 weeks due to an anterior placenta but feel lots now at 33 weeks. My midwife made me feel quite anxious about that at the time, but it was totally fine so just wanted to reassure you!

I've had this with both my babies. DD was (semi) co-operative for the second scan, and all the rest of the measurements were taken. DS.... Not so much. Second scan was worse than the first, and half the measurements remained missing. He's 12 weeks old now, and other than a nasty bout of bronchiolitis, he's as healthy as can be.

I am expecting twins so have been having fornightly scans since 16 weeks (now 32 wreks) by a specialist consultant. It took multiple scans to do all the abnormality assessments on them. They were repeatedly in the wrong position, moving too much or their sisters arm or leg is in the way, or punching each other! Still after all those scans they cannot confirm everything is completely fine with twin 2's heart. But they think it's fine. Just been told may need to have a heart scan post birth if they still cannot confirm.
