41 Weeks - Will labour ever begin? 😫

Hi,

I am 41 weeks today and feel like I am never going to go into natural labour.
I have stayed so active, walked 3k everyday, bounced on the ball, DTD a few times, been cleaning and tidying. Staying up right as much as possible.

I had a sweep at 40+3, cervix was soft and 1cm dilated. Had some intense cramping after that but stopped by the evening.
Booked in for another sweep on Wednesday and then if that doesn’t work induction on Saturday.

Anyone that can give me a positive story of spontaneous labour starting after 41 weeks?

I went into labour at 41+2 so it does happen! I had a sweep about 4 days beforehand which I do think started things off. There is definitely still a chance!

Friend of mine went all the way to 42+1. Induction was booked but she went onto labor naturally beforehand.

I’m in the exact same position, 41 weeks today and I’ve tried everything.
To begin with I was very much in the ‘she’ll get here when she gets here’ camp, but with induction looming I’m getting more upset about the whole thing.

I have a sweep booked for tomorrow morning, although originally I was hoping to avoid those as well.

I did see that for first babies, 50% of mothers go into spontaneous labour by 40+5 and 75% go into labour by 41+2 (or it may have been 41+3?). So I’m holding onto that right now! Hopefully it makes you feel a bit better too 🤞
