Bleeding 11 weeks

Hi everyone, I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and when I woke up this morning I was spotting and I’ve been having a bit of red spotting and cramps all day, I called 111 who sent me to the emergency department which was a bit pointless as I waited 3 hours to get told to call early pregnancy unit tomorrow morning and that they’ll scan me. I’m just wondering if anyone had the same thing and what the outcome was, we had a scan at 8 weeks and there was a heartbeat and everything looked perfect. I’m just really panicking and hoping everything is okay but it’s hard not to think of worst case. TIA

How much blood is there OP and how severe are the cramps? Any clots and then are you filling a pad?

Unfortunately it sounds like a wait and see situation. I’ve had bleeding throughout this pregnancy and everything has been ok but it could also be signs of an impending miscarriage. Try and stay positive if all was well at 8 weeks but definitely phone your pregnancy assessment unit first thing in the morning. They shouldn’t hesitate to see you tomorrow given the symptoms. Good luck x

@Moonshine160 its not a lot of blood at all, just some spotting, it’s not really enough to come out on a pad it’s more when I wipe there’s spots and streaks of blood

yeah I’m hoping everything is okay as I’ve not bled all night now and the cramps have stopped, I’ll be calling epu the minute they’re open and making sure they scan me

I have had this happen and go both ways and unfortunately you’ll probably have to wait until you have a scan to know more of what’s going on. The wait is both awful and worrying, my thoughts are with you.

If it helps to know I had a lot of bleeding in my last pregnancy (twins) I was having spotting investigated following the loss of my son which is how I found out I was even pregnant in the first place. I saw 2 heartbeats and so I was hopeful. A week later I had a gush so huge I thought I had went myself (as I had sneezed) but it was blood. I was sure given the amount if blood I had lost one or both, I had a terrible 3 day wait before they could scan me again. Scan showed the 2 little beans having grown since the last scan and seemingly doing well. No reason for the bleeding could be seen. I bled again at 10 weeks and again at 14 weeks, no reason was ever found. I suspect cervical ectropion and the fact that it was a twin pregnancy. Those twins are turning 6 months old tomorrow.

I have learned bleeding is very common in pregnancy, especially twin pregnancy, and that it doesn’t always mean the worst. I’ll be thinking you tomorrow, and I hope you get good news.
