Hematoma and measuring small

Hey all. Just wanted to see if anyone experienced similar.

I thought I was 7+2 and had a fairly heavy bleed at work, went to EPU for a scan and they said the bleed was caused by a subchorionic hematoma. They said what was more worrying was the baby was measuring at 6 weeks with a heartbeat.
I'm sure of my period dates but not so sure when I ovulate.

I've had a steady amount of brown/pink/red spotting since but not a large amount like the first time (not enough to soak through jeans, sorry tmi)

I'm now supposed to be 9 weeks and I'm going on for a scan on Tuesday but the limbo is killing me. Anyone got any experiences? Positive or negative appreciated.

My friend had this but there was never a heart beat and baby never grew past 5 weeks.
i myself measured small at an early scan I should have been 7+2 but my scan was 5+6.. I’d had a scan 2 weeks earlier and baby was 5+3 with a heart beat but when I went back in the 1 weeks and he had only grown a couple of mm (as they should grow 1mm per day) I naturally worried myself sick!! They wouldn’t scan me again they said as baby had grown. I had to go private a few days later and suddenly baby measured 7 weeks and had caught up. Very odd I must say. I just wonder if the baby was lying in a good position or something if you get what I mean like not side ways maybe she was just measuring the top of his head I don’t know but obviously she’s a professional so you would think she’s good at it working in a early pregnancy unit and all. But he’s here and a normal size for his age

So just over a week ago I had some spotting some red some pink some brown, but continued for ten days! I went for an early scan, dated me 5+4 which I knew was behind, I was certain I was 6+2, told me to come back in ten days, ten days later I've been back, baby was measuring 7+6 and had a heartbeat, I'm still nervous and still have cramping but trying to take comfort in the scan xx

Thanks for your replies! I'm hoping the scan was innacurate ory dates are wrong! Good to see some positive stories. Got my fingers crossed for Tuesday but was a bit nervous anyway before the bleed/ scan cause I haven't had morning sickness this pregnancy which is totally different you my last one!

I had this! Mine started at 12 ish weeks and latest until around 28 weeks (if I remember correctly)

It was so worrying as it was with my first.

My doctor gave me pessaries to control the bleeding and o was on bed rest throughout my pregnancy.

DC was born early and small, 4 weeks early, weighted 4lb. But is absolutely perfect and a very healthy 4.5 year old now.

PM me if I can help x

@Ged94 I was hospitalised in my last two pregnancies with sickness!! Nothing this time! X

GeorgiaMcGraw · 28/05/2022 08:24

I'm surprised they said it was worrying. When I was nearly 7 weeks pregnant I had a scan because of spotting/blood and they saw a heartbeat but said I measured nearer to 5 weeks, and not to worry because dates can be slightly off and measurements can easily be a week out at such an early stage. It's differences of millimetres. My baby ended up fine. Fingers crossed for you, but I don't think a week's difference is a huge problem at this point x

Ged94 · 28/05/2022 11:32

@yyydelilah was the early delivery related to the hematoma?

@GeorgiaMcGraw they didn't say to worry, they just said it could go either way which has me a bit worried

@Ged94 yes they said it had had an impact. Also the fact that he was very small even for a 36 week delivery

But my bleeding was severe. I had to give up work because it was like daily haemorrhaging and it went on for a long time.

Unfortunately had it confirmed today that I'm having misscariage.
