We are having our first baby and are looking at pushchairs, nursery sets, all of the usual items !
Is there anywhere where you can go that has a good selection of all of these things? I know you can buy online but id like to actually see them in real life ?

I went to a small, local baby shop for my pram and liked it as it was a really personal experience. They did prams, cots, furniture etc. I found it on Google. There's some bigger stores too but depends where you like - kiddie kingdom is in Bradford I think. John Lewis also sell baby stuff and then there's mamas and papas. We also went to the baby show and got the chance to demo different items and you can buy from there too. We went to the one in Manchester.

The local shop I ordered my pram from can kindly store it for me until I want to pick it up too which is very helpful! X

John Lewis? There’s mothercare here too, but not everywhere. Baby shops?

Butterscotchbaby · 26/05/2022 22:09

If you're based in the south east then A3 Baby Barn in Chessington is great

MamboMambo · 26/05/2022 22:39

I second John Lewis, they always have a decent selection of baby stuff!

The baby show in birmingham is great but the may/June one is much better than the winter one.

John Lewis, babyplanet are good go tos. Mothercare if they're still open? Mamas and papas.

Smyths toy shop.

Mothercare if you have one close by

John Lewis

Our large boots has a big baby section and there is a good selection of baby seats and prams on display.

MindatWork · 27/05/2022 07:54

Another vote for Smyths - their baby section is usually near the back of the store. Also John Lewis (needs to be a flagship store) or a big mamas and papas.

Those 3 shops are where we bought our car seat, pram and nursery furniture - Smyths in particular were great, their staff a properly trained to install car seats.

Whereabouts are you based Op?

HDready · 27/05/2022 07:55

Mothercare went bust about three years ago

bestbefore · 27/05/2022 08:01

Mothercare - haha - sadly it's long gone!

Butterscotchbaby · 27/05/2022 22:01

Mothercare still exists within large Boots stores. Eg Meadowhall has a big section. Also sells a range of brand prams and car seats.

Boots is a great place to buy baby things from as if you have their parenting club card you get 10 boots points for every pound you spend. I got my next to me from there I viewed it in the shop and got about a years worth of free shipping in Boots.

There's a small independent pram shop on mapperley top that I've heard good things about.

notafanofsweetandsour · 27/05/2022 22:42

Just googled it... it's called Diddyland.. however website says retirement sale so it may be worth phoning to see if they are/have closed down!
