Bleeding in pregnancy

I'm 17 weeks plus 4 days and I noticed some bleeding today (first time). I've not had bleeding at all through the pregnancy and I do have thrush. I went to the hospital and she had a look and said it was nothing to worry about and just a sore on my cervix. Throughout the day it's been spotting but nothing more and no pain. I rang the advice line and she said to just monitor it. Anyone else had this? It's my first pregnancy and I'm so worried!

Bleeding is common in pregnancy for a variety of reasons so try not to worry, especially as they seem to know the cause in your case. Just monitor it to see if it gets worse.

I had a heavy bleed at 11 weeks and they didn’t know the cause - I’m 25 weeks now and, touch wood, it hasn’t happened again.

Did they offer you a scan? If not, perhaps book a reassurance scan?

Hello! I’m 16 + 6 and this happened to me yesterday, there was pink blood when I wiped last night, and I also have thrush. I called the midwife and she said it’s also likely to be caused by thrush as it does strange things to us and to try not to worry. I’m not sure if this is reassuring for you or not but I hope it still works out for us both. Lots of love, I am really worried too so here if you need a chat!!

I have bled in every pregnancy I have had. 3 early miscarriages and 2 I carried to term, plus I'm now nearly 26 weeks with my third. With the miscarriages the bleeding got more frequent, heavier and was accompanied by painful cramps. With the others I had no pain - they were caused by irritation of the cervix which becomes much more friable during pregnancy. Miscarriage at your stage is very unlikely- a silent or 'missed' miscarriage with no pain or loss of the foetus even less so. It is a very worrying time though. Hope that is vaguely reassuring and everything works out for you.

Hey hope you are doing okay. I have taken some treatment for thrush and luckily I think the bleeding has stopped! I didn't have a scan but the midwifes did do a check and they said it was just a sore on my cervix so fingers crossed! I was so worried though! I hope everything is okay with you ❤️

I had a bleed at 16 weeks after 2 miscarriages, bloody hospital & my GP were both useless, spent an awful week until seeing my midwife & she got a heartbeat straight away with the doppler. Everything was fine, ds is 18 now.

I had bleeding throughout both of my pregnancies, literally from beginning to end. I have two very healthy adult children.
