Genital Warts in Pregnancy

I have developed a couple of genital warts during my pregnancy and just really wanted to reach out for some support from other mums to be that have also went through this?

Feeling very upset, isolated and generally disgusting ☹️ It’s ruining any enjoyment and excitement I feel towards growing this human life inside me! It’s not fair!

Please let me know I’m not alone? Support would mean everything right now 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜💜

Me too. Did you seek out any treatment? I've contacted my midwife but not sure if they can during pregnancy. Dr Google has mixed opinions. Hope you're okay now.

I had this and was so mortified but honestly it was not a big deal at all. I mentioned something different that I felt embarrassed about to my midwife this time and she said don't be ridiculous, we've seen everything.

Also pregnancy often brings out warts. I had one removed about 2 months after baby arrived and haven't had a recurrence.

Don't worry!

Did they give you an option of having this treated during the pregnancy. I am planning to go to a walk in clinic first thing tomorrow to see if they will do freezing. I've emailed the midwife team but have v little faith they'll come back to me during 2023 😂

They said it wasn't recommended so I didn't.

Thanks both. I also need to summon the courage to disclose this to my husband. They haven't been active the whole time we've been together so I've never needed to mention it. Sigh.

Maybe he gave them to you? He may well carry the virus too.

I unfortunately got them from the first person I ever slept with. And stupidly knew someone else that slept with him who had them. Didn't see anything active and used protection but still got them.
