Gestational diabetes, fluid off the scale, big baby

So I had my 28w midwife appt today. Measuring 32 weeks so she sends me for an urgent scan. Fluid around the baby is off the scale. Apparently over 20 is considered high and mine was 30.

Baby is measuring 1.6kgs. My previous 3 babies (dd1 and dts) have all been 2.65kg at birth so I usually have small babies.

I have been referred for a GTT (had 2 in the last pregnancy, both negative) but in the meantime, what could/ should I do in terms of diet?

Lastly, I am due to fly to France tomorrow for a wedding. The dr said I needed to make a judgement call - further on in the pregnancy and they would advise me not to travel, but the risks of early labour (and cord coming out first due to the excess waters) is relatively low. I have no idea how to make this decision.

Any words of wisdom?

I wouldn’t fly to France, you no there’s some sort of high risk issue/complication but have no details of it so I wouldn’t risk it. If you do go check it doesn’t cause any problems with your insurance first. Hopefully you wont have to wait long cos your test
