Has anyone got experience of the maclaren 4 seasons pushchair. I tried it out in John Lewis last week and DH and I thought it fitted all our requirements as we live in a first floor flat ie not much space, don't own a car so need to easily get on and off buses with low hassle and will be walking about a lot. It appeared to be one of the lightest on the market that you can use from birth but still slightly concerned that it might not offer as much protection as others you see on the market and is a bit gimmicky. Any other suggestions in the £160 - £250 price range.

I just googled it - if it is based on the Ryder chassis as one review said, that is a much cheaper flimsier chassis than the Techno strollers. Looks to me like you are paying for all the different seasonal looks (gimmicky as you say). You sound like you are after practicality and if you don't mind having a newborn in a buggy rather than a pram I'd say that you can't go wrong with the Techno XT or similar - see this link. They are enormously popular for a reason. I have one as my second buggy (for car, public transport and holidays) and it is ace.
