5 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone. Just wanting some advice. I woke up at 2am in tears due to an intense cramp in my lower abdomen. It lasted for about 30 mins and it was right in the lower middle. I was lying there with my husband crying as I thought I was losing our baby. Cramp has now subsided and I have not been bleeding.
Can anyone tell me if they've experienced this before? I'm so scared something bad will happen 🙈😔

I had lots of cramps at that time, now 16 weeks. Everything is stretching and growing. Hope everything is ok 💐

Thank you for the reply. I'm fine this AM. No pains and no blood. This happened at 2am. It was bizzare 😔

Cramps are normal in early pregnancy!

Cramps are normal. Just a heads up, spotting and even bleeding can be normal too. Your pregnancy symptoms can also ebb and flow without it being an indication of anything untoward. Early pregnancy is really variable!

I was convinced my period was coming at the start of pregnancy because of the cramps. In my first pregnancy I had spotting too. All perfectly normal and just adds to the worry of being pregnant!

I understand that it's normal but it's so hard not to believe something will go wrong, especially cos we feel it's too good to be true 🤣🙈 we need to enjoy the pregnancy more and look at the bigger picture and count ourselves so lucky ❤️❤️

I’m 5+1 and have been experiencing cramping and the other day it was so bad I convinced myself of the worst. I haven’t bled either. I’ve got an early scan next week so just counting down the days xx

Oh isn't it horrible? I've had nothing since and like you no blood. I have an early scan a week Friday and It cannot come quick enough 🙈🙈💞

My first I didn't know I was pregnant and I was nearly going to go to hospital cos the cramps. Thought I had a cyst or something. Dr told me i needed to do a pregnancy test before doing anything else. The cramps were very intense and took me off my feet at times. I think it was cos it was a first pregnancy. There is only concern if it is on one side or there is bleeding. I have had spotting early on everything was alright.

Hi OP, have you been having any alcohol free/fizzy drinks? At the same gestational you, I had the most horrendous cramps, felt just like severe period pains, but it turns out it was gas from alcohol free beer and fizzy tonic water. I had a scan and everything was completely fine x

I also had really bad pains early in second pregnancy, went for scan to check not ectopic and they said they could see lots of pockets of trapped wind. Never thought wind could be that painful!
