Suspected ovarian ectopic

Hi, I am writing this from a hospital bed having been admitted with a suspected ovarian ectopic pregnancy. 6(ish) weeks ago my last pregnancy ended, and it was a tubal ectopic on the other side.

Struggling with having no clear answer. I’m 4 weeks and had some left sided pain so because of my history they scanned me. Scan shows a cyst on my ovary and a mass next to it which they think Is the pregnancy - but aren’t sure. There is also an abnormal amount of free floating fluid. This all suggests a problem/ectopic but my bloods fit with a picture of a viable pregnancy. Hcg is 400 which is middle-normal for this stage (4 weeks) and progesterone is over 100 (this shows that where ever the pregnancy is, it is ‘live’ and growing). Nothing seen in uterus apart from that it is well lined for pregnancy - but this could happen with an ectopic. I have to have bloods done in the morning and those will tell me more as will see the pattern.

No point to this post other than to say what the hell, I can’t believe this is happening. Anyone experienced anything like this?

I haven't experienced it, but I'm here to handhold. What a difficult few weeks for you, I'm so sorry.

Thank you so much for checking in.

So at 11pm on the night I was admitted a specialist (who diagnosed my last ectopic and runs the EPU) knocked on my door and said he wanted to scan me himself, because he thinks my progesterone level is too high for an ectopic. He could not see an ectopic, but also could not see pregnancy in womb (but I’m only 4 weeks so wouldn’t expect to). He said the fluid is clear so not blood and apparently for some people it can be normal (but not always). He saw a cyst on my ovary and saw that I ovulated twice from that ovary. Then I was sent home! So 3 internal scans and a total of 5 people saw my uterus and ovaries (at one scan there were three docs all looking at the screen discussing what they could see and seeming baffled by the ‘complexity’ as they called it). And it’s still unknown.

Back for bloods today (48 hours after first lot). Looking for doubling HCG levels. Petrified of the phone call I’ll get later this afternoon telling me the blood results.
