Have you got food poisoning right now from undercooked meat?

Anxiousmamarggd · 22/05/2022 18:07

With all due respect, that was not my question.
Do you just sit on mumsnet all day waiting for people to post their genuine concerns, just to post really unhelpful comment to them? Why are you always the first person to comment on my post? Have you ever been pregnant? If so , you'd think you'd have more understanding around how difficult it is, especially for those who have mental health issues. Did you never get taught not to say anything if you didn't have anything nice to say?

But do you have food poisoning?

do you have an upset stomach? Are you vomiting?

what meat are you talking about as well? I have continued to eat rare beef throughout my pregnancy. Not so much raw chicken.

How rude OP.

But in answer to your questions, yes and yes.

Anxiousmamarggd · 22/05/2022 18:15

It's not rude to call someone out on their ridiculous behaviour. What is rude is this regenbogen22 literally commenting the most sarcastic, unhelpful comments to genuinely anxious pregnant women on the forum. I'd rather they didn't say anything than post comments of this nature. It's uncalled for and uncessary and very upsetting. I am 18 weeks pregnant, I have already lost one of my twins and I have severe ocd and anxiety plaguing my mind everyday. I've been too afraid to even tell anyone I'm pregnant yet so I have no one else in my personal life to talk to about this. I come here for support from other women, not to be made to feel stupid for asking.

@Anxiousmamarggd I like to respond to people's questions if I can, because yes, I'm currently pregnant, and sometimes have an answer which might help. And it's an open chat forum.

How is it rude to suggest you just buy a soap without the ingredient you're afraid of? (Your other thread)

Asking you if you currently have food poisoning was to establish whether, if you have it badly, you might need medical attention. As opposed to....you might have had a slight upset stomach last week but all is perfect now.

Also, undercooked chicken is a bit different to a medium-rare steak, as a previous poster asked. Valid question.

I'm not one for flowery responses peppered with hearts and smileys. I would rather be direct and get a point across. Sorry if that's not your thing.

I have maternal OCD due to miscarriages and know exactly the feelings you are experiencing, which is why it is helpful someone asking if you are exhibiting food poisoning symptoms or if you are stuck in a thought loop after eating a too pink lamp chop.

the recommendations will be different depending on the situation.

and as I have said- I have eaten rare meat since the start of my current pregnancy, as long as I am happy with its storage and preparation.

Anxiousmamarggd · 22/05/2022 18:26

But do you not think that comes across as sarcastic to ask 'why don't you just buy soap without SLES?'
Firstly, I cannot find one without it where I live, and secondly, that would not take away the anxiety I have about the period of time throughout my pregnancy that I have been using soap with SLES in it. I was asking for advice from people with OCD who do the same thing and have gone on to have healthy babies and if anyone knew if using this has maybe caused harm, not what I could do going forward.

I have OCD, heightened in pregnancy.
I didn't have food poisoning in the second trimester but I had terrible sickness in my third trimester for 12 hours. I was admitted to hospital for fluids and anti sickness injections as I was very dehydrated. Baby born 9 days unaffected.
If you're displaying symptoms of food poisoning and you're worried give maternity a ring.
