Have my diabetes screening in the morning, I remember from the last two I need to fast beforehand but not sure from what time- does anyone know? And I presume I can drink water throughout. Appointment at 9.50 if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!

I had mine at 8 30 am and fasted from 7 the night before, my dinner was my last meal. I can't remember if I could drink water during the night but I definitely wasn't allowed drink it during the 2 hour test!

I had my GTT pregnancy screening a couple of weeks ago. You fast from 12 hours before, so you’ll be fine if you don’t eat anything after 9.50pm tonight.
I was advised you can have “sips of water” throughout the fasting period and the test.
I wasn’t really sure how specific this was, but avoided glugging pints of water just in case.

Im a midwife. General rules are that you have to fast for 10 hours prior to the test.

You can drink water whilst fasting. When taking the test technically you shouldn't but I know some labs let you.

Ah I've just googled and found a leaflet for my trust. Fast from 10pm and sips of water only. Not sure why I didn't do that in the first place 😂

Thank you!
