Cramping at 11 weeks pregnant

I'm 11+2 and for the past few days I've felt like my period is about to start. Its just a crampy feeling thats lasting hours at a time. It seems worse when I'm in bed or laying down to sleep. I have it again now on the left hand side. Not really painful but its worrying me anyway. I have my 12week scan on Thursday so don't want to ring anyone before that but just wondering if anyone else has had the same and all be good? Thanks

Have you had any private scans op

Baby1222 · 21/05/2022 19:06

@Buzzer3555 ok thanks 😊

@HSKAT yes I had one 3 weeks ago and all was good other than a haematoma I think its called. It gave me reassurance for about an hour then just felt back to being anxious 🙈

My partner is great but also not sensitive or sympathetic at all and expects me to go on like normal all of the time! He went to lay on me there now carrying on and I told him not to cuz im not feeling well and I'm really worried about the cramping and that I dont appreciate him getting on at me when I'm feeling like this and he's just stormed out in a huff making me feel even more like shit than I already do right now 😩

Cramping can be very normal! Just relax. If u get spotting then might be worth a visit to hospital but u would be v v unlikely to get a scan on a Saturday and there is nothing they can do but check your cervix. I know as this happened to me! Good luck!

Baby1222 · 21/05/2022 19:21

@Seabreeze18 thanks! I will try not to worry about it and wait for my scan on Thursday! Hopefully all will be ok 😊

Hi @Baby1222, sorry to hear about your night it sounds rubbish and like your partner hasn’t helped, hope you’re feeling a little better! I definitely had this occasionally around week 11/12 and read it was most likely things stretching, especially if only on one side. I’m now 16 weeks and have similar pain which is apparently called ‘round ligament pain’ could be worth a Google to see if it sounds like what you’re feeling. Lots of love!

Baby1222 · 21/05/2022 22:59

@AbbiL0u thank you! Yes it's been a pretty shitty few weeks up until today too with a death in the family and I think the stress / nausea / exhaustion has just all caught up 😩 i also have a 2 year old who's motto seems to be 'sleep is for the weak' so that helps 🙈
I went and got some nice food and now going to get into bed and try to get some sleep! Tomorrow is 1 day closer to my scan!! It does sound like you describe tho so its possibly just the stretching..I really hope so! Thank you 😊 and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 😁

Totally normal, you'll probably get this throughout. I'd say try not to worry but I did until she was in my arms! Good luck xxx

Baby1222 · 26/05/2022 12:58

UPDATE
I had my 12 week scan today and they said all looked good 😁

I had regular period pains until I was about 30 weeks. Cramping can be very normal- as long as it’s not severe and no blood!

siobhanmt247 · 26/05/2022 17:48

I could've written this. Ive had the same sort of cramps at 10w4d, they don't really feel like stretching and it's so low I thought they'd be higher at this stage. Nice to know everything was ok

Baby1222 · 26/05/2022 20:14

@siobhanmt247 thats what I thought..the cramps were so low down it really worried me but they eased off after 3 or 4 days and today there was a really wriggly wee baby in there 🥰 hoping your scan comes soon and you get some reassurance 💕
