Need an excuse not to go horse riding!

I'm about to go and visit my cousin, and I always ride when I go there. However, being nearly 6 weeks pregnant, I'm thinking that falling off a horse might not be a good idea. I need an excuse not to ride that won't make her suspicious!

Any ideas for, e.g. a bad back problem that might have sprung up over night (I didn't think about this in advance, so it needs to be a last minute problem!)

You could always blush and murmer something about having PILES and that you can't sit down comfortably let alone ride a horse....

IMHO I think that you are being v sensible avoiding riding when pregnant. I was v foolish and rode until I was 7.5 months pregnant with DD and, although nothing happened in terms of a fall etc, I think that the strains and stresses on my pregnant body and esp. my pelvis were a contributory factor to me developing SPD with pregnancy number two.

Good luck!

This won't help you at all but a gynae said to me that it is absolutely fine to go riding and skiing until 12 weeks as the baby is tucked deep inside the pelvis until then and so no harm can come to it.

Dicky tummy/cystitis. You simply can't face being away from the loo or possibly having to struggle your joddies down behind a bush!

I used pulled muscles as an excuse when I was 14 weeks preg.

You can ride but if you fall off it will be scary and dangerous so i'd think of an excuse.

CONGRATS by the way.

Wear an elastic bandage on your arm and claim sprained wrist?
