If you're dating using your LMP, it could be that you ovulated slightly later than assumed, or even conceived later and therefore you're just slightly behind. And when the embryo is this small, a matter of a few days can make a world of difference.

Do you know when you ovulated or was your calculation based off your LMP and cycle length? I went for a scan when I was 7w5d and the baby was only measuring 6w0d. There was a heartbeat they were really positive about the pregnancy unfortunately I was confident of my dates and there was no way I could only have been 6 weeks. I went back a week later and there was no longer a heartbeat, it was a missed miscarriage. I didn't have many pregnancy symptoms compared to my first and my pregnancy tests weren't very dark so I wasn't confident even before going for the scan.

I really hope it's not the same for you!

Sorry I misread your post and thought they dated you 5w. Do you know what they estimated your date to be? My doctor said up to a week variation can be normal because sperm can live for 5 days and it can take time for the embryo to actually implant. So even if you ovulated on CD15, the embryo might not implant for several days after. All these factors can throw out your dates.

I was on fertility treatment, I ovulated very late so going from LMP isn’t possible I am 6 weeks 4 days and been monitored weekly since 4 weeks. It’s only this scan we saw the yolk sac
