Hi has anybody used this before to support their pregnancy? I'm 7+5 and had a previous miscarriage. Just been prescribed this today as I've had some bleeding again. Everything is fine and saw the heart beat in a scan. Just unsure of this medication? Tia x

Hi, it's just progesterone, something your body makes anyway. It's especially important in very early pregnancy for maintaining the uterine lining and for supporting the pregnancy until the placenta takes over.

Usually inserted vaginally, the dose varies, mine was 200mg twice a day.

I think this medication saved my twins. I’d had three miscarriages back to back and then I was prescribed this and finally had a healthy pregnancy

Thank you both 🥰 @Regenbogen22 @Sadnesser you have both reassured me lots ♥️

Yeah it's increasingly common. I think the NICE guidelines are to use it until 16 weeks following bleeding in pregnancy and/or previous miscarriage. I'm on 400mg three times a day but this is an ivf pregnancy and I have had a LOT of issues with bleeding and losses.
