I'm 15 weeks and cannot shake off this dull but sometimes throbbing headache! Been drinking loads of water and taking my prenatal vitamins. Please tell me this is just a normal part of pregnancy? Paracetamol only helped mildly to help me sleep.

Firstly huge congratulations! I personally found headaches were unfortunately part and parcel of pregnancy 😫as long as your blood pressure is ok I didn't find it was anything to worry about and it eased further along in my pregnancy, hopefully it's the same for you 🤞

Hormonal headaches are really common in the second trimester and can be quite dehabilitating and last for days. You can take co-codamol in the second trimester (not recommended in pregnancy overall because if it's taken near delivery it can affect the baby's breathing ability), so I would suggest to take that and see how you feel. Hope it goes soon for you.

Check your BP. Midwives can do this for you if you give them a call.

I had exactly the same at around 15/16 weeks. A headache that just wouldn’t shift for almost 5 days. Then I woke up and it had miraculously disappeared and I didn’t have another like it for the remainder of my pregnancy. If you’re worried, ask your midwife if she can check your urine and blood pressure but it is likely to just be a hormonal headache. Hope it shifts for you soon x
