I have Intersistial cystitis or painful bladder syndrome and I'm not sure what to do !
I'm nearly 5 weeks pregnant and been having on/off pain which I know is my bladder pain. Doc said a few days ago no trace of infection but will send off sample to lab! And if I need any antibiotics they will give me some but I'm so worried it's going to hurt the baby !
Im taking d mannose but not really doing much drinking lots of squash too !
Should I ring docs again toMoroow ? Thanks

If the culture come back positive for a bacterial infection then yes, of course you should take the antibiotics.

Are you supposed to ring them tomorrow? Or will they call you with the results?

Make an appointment at Harley Street your IC is likely an embedded infection. They can treat during pregnancy

I also have IC, awful condition so my sympathies! I was on 4 weekly iAluril instillations prior to my pregnancy but had to stop these as not tested during pregnancy. I struggle to tell the difference between an infection (which I was told by the midwife always requires antibiotics during pregnancy) or just general IC pain. I've only done one urine sample so far at my booking appt since I'm early pregnancy still and that was fine, just blood which is usual for my inflamed bladder. I keep dipsticks in at home which reassures me. My IC hasn't been terrible during pregnancy so far, actually probably a bit improved especially since I'm eating a lot more fruit than I usually would etc
