Hi I'm around 8 weeks and woke up to this this morning (see pic). What should I do?

Can you call your local EPU and ask to be seen?

SweetMelody19 · 18/05/2022 11:17

Thanks @annlee3817 I did and have an appointment tomorrow for a scan x

At 8 weeks they should be able to detect a heartbeat. Don't be surprised if they want to scan internally, in fact the internal scan will most likely give better images at this early stage.

If they see something but it's not matching up with your dates, i.e. it's seems to be smaller than expected, ask for HCG levels to be checked (blood test) on the day of the scan and 2 days later to check that they're rising properly.

Thank you for your advice @Regenbogen22 I will make sure I do mention this! X

@SweetMelody19 try not to worry too much.... I had this last week at six weeks, was convinced it was over, went for a scan at the weekend and they found a cyst on my ovary! Reallt common and causes spotting and brown blood xx

SweetMelody19 · 18/05/2022 16:01

@Moosh18 that has reassured me a little, thank you. I have polysistic ovaries so it could well be that! X

@SweetMelody19 obviously I can't say for certain! But that's honestly what mine looked like and o have a cyst! I bet it's the same for you! My spotting lasted a week, but started heavier like yours is now and I had two episodes of pink x

Nikki2ol6 · 18/05/2022 17:21

@SweetMelody19 how did you get on at your scan?

SweetMelody19 · 18/05/2022 18:05

Thanks @Moosh18 you have helped to calm me down a bit today! X

My scan is tomorrow @Nikki2ol6 so I will let you know. X

I had that and had a successful pregnancy. I think I was scanned at 9 weeks and had an internal scan, heartbeat was fine and dandy. All the best for tomorrow x

SweetMelody19 · 18/05/2022 19:12

Thank you @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor ♥️ trying to stay as positive as I can 🙂 x

@SweetMelody19 how did you get on today?

SweetMelody19 · 19/05/2022 20:54

@MummyT13 Hey everything was fine with the scan. They placed me at 7+5. They have also given me Utrogestan to take untill I am 14 weeks to help support the pregnancy. (I had a miscarriage in Feb)
They couldn't see where the blood was coming from ? So other than that pretty promising news. Thank you for asking ♥️ x
