Kicks that I can feel on outside but not inside?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow with anterior placenta but been feeling movement since around 19 weeks which is definitely getting stronger. However the last couple days when resting my hand on hump I've been aware of kicks I've felt with my hand but didn't feel on the inside at all - if I hadn't had my hand in the right spot at the right moment I would never even have known he'd kicked there! Still feeling plenty of movement on the inside too though.
Anyone else ever experienced this?

I had the same, perfectly normal

Thanks! It's just weirding me out because if it's a strong enough movement to be felt on the outside I don't understand how I could not feel it on the inside

Yes! I have anterior placenta and have marvelled at this. Even now at 36 weeks my partner sometimes feels kicks and looks at me like "wow!" And I haven't felt a thing 😂 I can feel the movement of my tummy against my hand but if it kicks the placenta it isn't kicking me, if you know what I mean. Very odd though isn't itn
