Hi all.

I am currently a surrogate and this is my first ever “pregnancy” so it’s all extremely new to me. I don’t have my own children nor have I ever experienced anything like this before.

im currently 8DP5DT and so far I’ve had 7 pregnancy tests over the last 3 days all come back as positive right away and clear as day. Some taken in the AM, some in the PM. Taken with a fair few brands, clear blue being my main one.

my question is, how regular are false positives? My BETA test is Friday (20/05) and my current symptoms are:

sore breasts
constant vomiting and nausea
vivid dreams
hot flushes
cramping
sudden sharp pains that last 1 second every couple of days
loss of appetite for foods I love
acne
always tired/ sleepy
lower back pain.

is this all normal? Is there any chance at all that the tests could be fake positives? I know the chances are slim but I don’t want to get my intended parents hopes up and just need someone to calm my nerves.

the “IVF” I’m taking won’t affect my HCG level according to the tablets themselves, the nurses and Google! I’m only on suppositories and progynova

thanks all in advance

x

I’d be very surprised if you’d got 7 false positives in a row; a false positive itself is extremely rare (although not impossible). Have you taken any digital tests, where you done have to interpret the line? Your symptoms do sound pregnancy related, although yours have come on much earlier than mine did. Best of luck for Friday.

7 tests all giving false positives would be almost impossibly unlikely. Even 1 false positive is pretty unlikely.
I only took 2 tests to confirm I was pregnant.
