How long to wait to conceive?

Hi

Just wondering how long after a miscarriage did everyone wait to try again? And did everything go okay the second time?

I've read that if you try within 3 months there's 76% chance of success and after this drops to 51% chanceSmile

I think it's generally recommended that you wait until after your first period for dating purposes but technically, you're good to start ttc as soon as you feel ready.

I miscarried the end of October and was pregnant again by February. My loss was at 19 weeks though, so my cycle was a bit all over the place for a while. Currently 16 weeks. Good luck :)

I had an early miscarriage in August, didn't wait, got pregnant again in September but that was a chemical. My gynaecologist gently advised giving my body a one-cycle break, and I got pregnant in November after the month's break. Now 29 weeks.

It was weird....not a sniff of a positive test from January until July, then 3 all in a row. 😂

Sorry for your loss.

I tried again immediately and fell pregnant 8 months after my surgical management. It's really normal not to fall pregnant within 3 months of your mc so please don't put too much pressure on yourself. When you've had a mc, the 12 month clock starts again of when you'll conceive - hopefully within that time frame.

My next pregnancy was a success and I now have a 20 month old dd climbing all over the sofa as we speak.

I've had two MCs one at 5 weeks and I just carried on as normal and tried again the next month the second one was a MMC so later in the pregnancy so I had to have a procedure to remove it after that I had to wait one month to have a normal period before trying again. I fell pregnant the month after and my little man is currently curled up in my lap having a danger nap he'll never sleep tonight 😂

Good luck to you and sorry for your loss

Hi everyone

Thank you for your replies, I had an early miscarriage 2 weeks ago and was just wondering how long everyone waits Smile I think I'm going to wait for my period and try from there. Smile Just got some seven seas folic acid has anyone had these and found them useful? I struggle swallowing tablets and found these are the smallest.

Definitely keep taking the folic acid, it should be taken whilst TTC and not just when one finds out they're pregnant.

If you have trouble swallowing prenatal vitamins, just crush them up and stir them into something.

They also make prenatal vitamin chewable tablets or gummies, have a search if that might be interesting!

Yeah I'll have a look at that thank you!

Sorry for your loss I am also going through a MMC at 10.5 weeks.

All the information I have read is that you can TTC again when you feel ready. Sending us both baby dust and positive future pregnancies.

I had an early miscarriage (about 4 weeks 3 days I think) in January, and was pregnant again in early March - he's now two and a half. I think it depends on how early the miscarriage was and your body. Good luck.

Hi
Sorry to hear that

I think I was just under 6 weeks, i didn't bleed much just for a few hours so I'm worried my next period is going to be horrendous, I had a scan on Sunday and they said I'm mid cycle so expecting my period to come in around 2 weeks. It does seem a lot of people managed to conceive quickly after their MC. Fingers crossed I'm one of those 🤞🏽
