Hi I just need some reassurance, I recently had a miscarriage in November last year but I'm pregnant now with my rainbow baby and I'm 17 weeks. I have felt little flutters/pops from 16 weeks but i have had some days we're I don't feel anything (like today), I'm a paranoid mess with this pregnancy since my miscarriage and any ache or pain I think the worst so the days were I feel nothing I panic, has anyone else experienced this at 17 weeks? I know the baby is still really small at this stage but it just makes me worry

TIA :)

I did have days like that. I was super anxious too. I’m sure all is fine but could you call your maternity unit for some reassurance?

Hi,

I had a mc in october, now pregnant, 19w. I occasionally feel little movements, but certainly not every day, and not at any expected times. It's still pretty tiny at this stage - think size of a red pepper or something - so if you think about it, it's only if it's really going for it that you'll feel it.

I had my midwife check at 16 weeks. I asked her to have a listen - couldn't hear a heartbeat, which was worrying in itself, but she could hear the placenta. She reckoned anterior placenta, which makes it likely I won't feel things as early as I did with previous pregnancies.

If you're desperate for reassurance, do get in touch with your maternity unit or midwife. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that what you're feeling is totally normal at this stage.

Hope that helps.

Totally normal. With my first I didn't feel movements till about 22 weeks. With my 2nd it was around 15 weeks but not everyday till around 20 weeks, and with my 3rd I didn't feel anything till around 19 weeks but I had an anterior placenta.
I've also had 2 miscarriages so I is exactly how you feel.

Yes can totally relate to this, I have experienced similar but don't worry, what you describe is normal. Once you get past 22/23 weeks or so you should be feeling more and it will reassure you x

Can’t offer any advice but I feel like I could have wrote this post myself!
bexuse I’m anxious all the time I feel like i constantly have butterflies anyway so can’t tell if it’s me being a nervous nelly or the baby fluttering haha.

I lost my first baby last June in the third trimester (genetic condition), and am currently 27 weeks with my rainbow so I completely empathise! I wish I could say it gets easier, but I have become obsessed with her movements. Remember at your stage it's very, very early and the baby has a lot of space to move! I still don't have a pattern, but my maternity unit are happy to see me whenever I have the tiniest concern because of my previous loss. Maybe mention your worries to your midwife and they may be able to put something similar in place when you're a bit further along :)
